One day in Baku is a sprint. Skip the buses, use taxi apps and start as early as possible.
Morning: Icherisheher (09:00 — 12:00)
The Old City is the heart of Baku. Arrive at opening — by noon tourist groups fill the narrow streets.
- Maiden Tower — 15 AZN for foreigners. Open daily 09:00–18:00
- Palace of the Shirvanshahs — 15 AZN. The complex is large, allow at least an hour
- Museum of Miniature Books — free. Closed Mondays and Thursdays
Breakfast: skip fancy places. Get qutabs (with greens, meat or pumpkin) from tandoor shops. Price: 2–4 AZN. Add tea in an armud glass.
Afternoon: Boulevard and Little Venice (12:00 — 16:00)
Exit through the southern gates to the seafront. The boulevard stretches over 15 km — you won't cover it on foot.
- Electric scooter rental — 8–12 AZN/hour. Faster and more practical than walking
- Little Venice — gondola ride 10 AZN. Worth it for photos
Lunch:
- Budget (25 AZN): «Fisincan» or «Anadolu»
- Mid-range (50+ AZN): «Dolma» at Fountain Square. Try the Shah-plov

Evening: Highland Park and Flame Towers (16:00 — 20:00)
The best finale for the day. Here you see the city transition from antiquity to futurism.
- Funicular (1 AZN) — unreliable, often under maintenance. Call Bolt directly to Flame Towers (~3–4 AZN)
- Light show starts right after sunset. In May that's around 20:00
Dinner: head back to Fountain Square (Torgovaya). In the evening this is the highest concentration of life in the city.
