What to See

Lankaran Fortress & Zindan

The historic Round Tower — a medieval fortress dungeon where Stalin was once imprisoned. Free to view from the outside.

Tea Plantations

Lankaran is the tea capital of Azerbaijan. Tours to rural plantations (like Khanbulan) including tasting: 15–25 AZN.

Gizilagaj National Park

A massive wetland reserve. Peak season for flamingos, pelicans and herons: October to March. Entry for foreigners: 2 AZN.

Black Sand Beaches

Food: The Legendary Southern Flavors

Southern Azerbaijani cuisine is vastly different from Baku's. The king here is Levengi — a rich stuffing made from crushed walnuts, onions and sour plum paste.
